SAP SuccessFactors Mobile app changes – What you need to do

On February 18, 2025, SAP will implement important updates for the SAP SuccessFactors Mobile application, impacting all iOS users and those utilizing Multi-Profile Mode on iOS and Android. These changes are designed to enhance security, improve user experience, and prepare the app for future capabilities such as SAP’s AI copilot, Joule.

SAP Successfactors iOS Application – Mandatory Reauthentication

The SAP SuccessFactors Mobile application for iOS will transition from the SuccessFactors, Inc. account to the SAP SE account. While the app’s name and icon will remain unchanged, all iOS users must sign in again after updating the app.

Consider to inform your employees about this mandatory reauthentication to prevent access issues.

Multi-Profile Mode Enhancements

Multi-Profile Mode allows multiple users to share a single device. The upcoming release introduces some key changes to this feature:

  1. Unified Company/Instance Requirement: All profiles must belong to the same company or instance as the Owner (the first activated user, also known as the „Admin User“). Profiles from different companies or instances will be marked as invalid and must be removed.
  2. Elimination of Profile Nicknames: Previously, users could assign nicknames to profiles. After the update, nicknames will no longer be supported. Instead, the second line beneath the user’s name will now identify the Owner profile.
  3. Restricted Profile Removal: Only the Owner or the individual user can remove a profile. Profiles can no longer be deleted directly from the „Profiles“ screen. Instead, the Owner must navigate to Settings > Manage Profiles to perform this action.
  4. Removal of Shared Device Setting: The „Shared Device“ setting will be discontinued. Features it previously enabled, such as passcode requirements, will now be automatically applied when Multiple Profiles is activated.
  5. Android Profile Switcher Removal: Android users will no longer have the option to switch profiles from the navigation drawer. Users must end their current session before another profile can begin, aligning the process with iOS behavior.

Action Steps for Organizations

At Diokles we recommend:

  • Inform iOS users about the mandatory reauthentication after the update
  • Review Multi-Profile Mode usage within teams and ensure compliance with the new company/instance restrictions.
  • Update internal guidelines and training materials to reflect these changes.

By proactively addressing these updates, organizations can minimize disruptions and ensure a secure, efficient mobile experience for all users.
