SuccessFactors 1H 2025 Release Integration Changes

After one release, the next one is right around the corner. On April 14th, the SAP SuccessFactors 1H 2025 Release will be available in SuccessFactors Preview instances for all customers. On the weekend from the 16th to the 18th of May, it will be released in the productive instances. 

Changes for PA_SE_IN and ECS4HCM

The new support packages will offer 3 new features available for both components. 

Support for Migration of Employees on Leave of Absence with Additional Event Records

SAP now supports migrating employees on a Leave of Absence (LOA) from SAP ERP HCM or SAP S/4HANA to Employee Central due to long-term absences, parental leave, or sabbaticals. This can now be achieved using the concept of Additional Event Records.

Now you don’t have to manually migrate them via file, if the employee was inactive on your FTSD. This ensures accurate headcount reporting and actions on long-term leave of absence employees.

Requirements:

  • PA_SE_IN SP: 39 and you have to activate the switch ERP to EC: Additional Event Records in the view V_ECPAO_CONSTANT

OR

  • ECS4HCM SP: 05

Additionally:

  • Create new event reasons of type DATACHG with the status of paid or unpaid leave for the start of LOA. 
  • In view V_ECPAO_CONSTANT configure the action types in your on-prem system for Leave of Absence and map them to the created event reason in EC.

Support for Multiple National IDs with Validity Periods in Integration with SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA

SuccessFactors now supports multiple National IDs with validity periods to reflect lifelong changes in the National ID portlet. To do that, new fields were added: Valid From and Valid To

To support multiple National IDs, the following enhancements have been delivered in the Integration Add-Ons: 

  • A new entity has been created: PerNationalIdValidityChange. For WS mode, it is WS_17V, and for CSV mode, it is CSV_17V
  • Migration and Replication have been enhanced to support employees holding multiple National IDs. 

Requirements: 

  • PA_SE_IN SP: 39 or  ECS4HCM SP: 05
  • Enable the National ID with Validity Period feature in EC
  • Remove the old National ID entities (WS_17 and CSV_17) from your Transformation Template Group. Then, import the metadata for the new entities and include them in the relevant Transformation Template Group.

New Business Add-In to Modify Manager Assignment of Employee for Data Replication to Employee Central

SAP added a new BADI (EX_ECPAO_MNGR_DATA_MODIFY) to overwrite the standard manager determination logic used in the report ECPAO_MNGR_TYPES_EXTRACTION.

You can use this BADI to override the standard manager determined by the extraction program for specific Personnel Numbers where the results do not meet your expectations.
